Background

APEC member economies proposed to strengthen cooperation among PPSTI APEC centers in 6th PPSTI meeting in 2015. The 1st APEC-PPSTI APEC Centers Cooperation Conference was held in Pohang, Korea in 2016. Two years later, APCTT hosted the 2nd APEC-PPSTI APEC Centers Cooperation Conference in Suzhou,China in 2018. As we conclude from the previous two conferences, there should be cooperation among APEC centers in all APEC foras, not only the centers under PPSTI.

To discover already existing cooperation among all the 20+ APEC centers and inspire more cooperation, APCTT holds the Workshop on Innovation and Cooperation of APEC Centers and Long Term Mechanisms in 2019. The workshop, based on cooperation cases/proposals, requests all the centers’ contribution. The participating center can submit its cooperation case with other centers or a proposal that may initiate cooperation which meets the requirements of this workshop as well as the APEC goals.

Objectives

a) To enhance APEC centers cooperation and share experience of collaborative information, expertise and joint projects;

b) To facilitate APEC centers/long term mechanisms using innovative technologies for regional development and inclusive growth.
